Are you sure that it uses SATA_SVW?  The 326 we got uses the MPT Fusion drivers...

You can also try the UseYourOwnKernel functionality with SystemImager - basically on the image server (provided that it has the same hardware as your compute nodes), run si_prepareclient --server <servername> --norsyncd and it'll generate working kernel/initrd.img from your OS (CentOS) and you can copy the files from /etc/systemimager/boot to /tftpboot for network booting.

Hi List,

I hope you can help here

I have been trying to install CentOS via oscar for the last couple of
weeks, without any success; below are the details

OSCAR 4.2.1

SystemImager 3.6.3
SystemImager 3.7.2

OS: CentOS 4.2
Harware: x86_64

I have tried changing the patches/linux.86_64.config to say

CONFIG_SCSI_SATA_SVW=m
CONFIG_SCSI_SATA_SVW=y
CONFIG_SCSI=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_SATA=y
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDESCSI=y

all with different combinations, without any success

I have also tried to manually insmod the drivers when it is in the
systemimager kernel, when I check with lsmod, the drivers are loaded,
but there is absolutely nothing in /proc/partitions or /dev/ for the HDD
