I've been having problems with the install process - I have SystemImager 3.6.3-1 and I am running a netboot on a particular machine; PXELinux loads, tftps everything over just fine, and starts running the install script, but it is unable to start the network properly - it does not seem to recognize the Ethernet card. The install process subsequently bails out when dhcp doesn't get any response.
From what I gather, it should be using a normal e1000 Ethernet driver, nothing spectacularly New and Amazing or anything, and that driver ought to be available in the standard configuration - is this the case?
From within the BOEL environment, /proc/pci outputs the following information about the device:
Bus 6, device 8, function 0:
Class 0200: PCI device 8086:1010 (rev 1).
IRQ 185.
Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=255.
Non-prefetchable 64 bit memory at 0xedfe0000 [0xedffffff].
I/O at 0x2500 [0x253f].
Bus 6, device 8, function 1:
Class 0200: PCI device 8086:1010 (rev 1).
IRQ 193.
Master Capable. Latency=64. Min Gnt=255.
Non-prefetchable 64 bit memory at 0xedfc0000 [0xedfdffff].
I/O at 0x2540 [0x257f].
When I run lspci on this machine from its normal, pre-existing Linux install (the one I want to overwrite with SIS), it shows as follows:
06:08.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82546EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) (rev 01)
06:08.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82546EB Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Copper) (rev 01)
