Terry, sorry.. I was looking at the code in the trunk (aka 3.7.3 ASAP), so there's no problem to detect the partitions.
The problem is instead in LVM config cloning. So, what version of LVM have you installed in your golden client (`pvs -opv_fmt`)? Then what's the output of the command `vgdisplay -c`? and `lvdisplay -c`? Consider that if you're using LVM1 there should be some problems in the cloning procedure, it has been resolved in the svn trunk with one of the recent fixes...
