I'm not sure where it's hanging.  The last message is: "UDF-fs: No Partitions 
Found (1)" but that seems to be a normal message at bootup time if the CD 
doesn't have any partitions.  It's putting out NET statements just before the 
UDF-fs message.  It never gets as far as dhclient.  I'm not even sure it's into 
rcS yet.  This kernel boots clean on the machine (obviously, it's a golden 
image kernel) but from the CD, it doesn't seem to boot up.  I mounted the 
initrd and I can't find anything strange in there.  I do have CONFIG_PACKET=y.  
I can post my whole config but I'd hate to waste the space here unless you're 
sure it would help.
