No you do not need to use PXE or DHCP if you use a systemimager boot CD. PXE is used to get a boot image over the network. If you are booting from CD the image comes from the CD. If you are booting from a systeimager CD you do not have to use DHCP, but you can (I do). If you really do not want to use DHCP then you will need to provide a local.cfg file with the IP address, hostname, etc in it. Point 5 on pages 5-6 in the System Imager manual has details of the local.cfg file.
