If you are in the early stage of booting you need to can try to run /etc/init.d/rcS. But some steps could obviously fail if they're alread done (think for example at the mount_proc or mount_sys). In this case it's always better to reboot, but if you really want to continue without rebooting you should change the rcS script removing the steps already done.
The last operation of rcS is to run the autoinstall script. If you reach that point you could fix problem and re-run the autoinstall script again. However I always recommend to reboot the machine... ;-) Regards, -Andrea Kennedy, William J. wrote: > Is there a quick-n-easy way to restart the imaging process within BOEL > without rebooting a box? > > For example, if I attempt to image a machine with disk hardware that > does not match the .master file corresponding to my image, or if I > choose the wrong image or IP information during the boot process, SI > bails out to the busybox prompt. > > If something goes wrong, I'd rather kick off the Q&A process again > rather than reboot each time I make a mistake. > > A quick look in inittab, [s]bin, usr/[s]bin didn't yield anything > obvious..
