The default choice is to use BOEL, but if you have any problem it's better to move to UYOK. If you have an heterogeneous environment, simply use the default options (without --my-modules). You could contact Dann (that he's reading in CC), if you are interested to learn something about deb packaging and if you want to be part of the maintenance team in Debian for SystemImager.
