Hello, Patrick! SystemImager is really designed for replicating a hard disk image to multiple computers over a network. If all you're trying to do is make a backup of your system in order to be able to restore it later, you might look into using a different tool. Something basic like tar should work, and it likely comes installed with your Linux system, whatever that may be. Check out http://www.gnu.org/software/tar/manual/html_node/Backups.html HTH, Sim?n

Then if the copied partition changes and I want to restore it, I can just load the image which is already stored on the same system. All the examples I have read so far sound like you need to store to a differnet computer over a network? But this is impractical for my purpose. Thank you in advance for all your help, -P _________________________________________________________________ With tax season right around the corner, make sure to follow these few simple tips. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes/PreparationTips/PreparationTips.aspx?icid=HMFebtagline ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
