Hi,

I am a happy user of SI-Suite. I have used the software
to administrate our linux/beowulf-type cluster since
around 2003. Presently, we are in an updating-procedure,
which means that we also change to newest stable release
of SI-Suite.

I have a few questions, that I hope you can briefly answer.

1. Is it correct that SI-suite presently do not come/work
with SystemInstaller?
SystemInstaller is mentioned at the Wiki main page and
briefly in the pdf-docs as well, but several of the tools
seem to have moved, e.g. mksimachine (SystemInstaller) is
now replaced by e.g. si_addclients and si_mkdhcpstatic
(SystemImager).

2. Does new (v.4) SystemImager keep a database of
corresponding nodenames, mac-addresses, IP-addresses,
image-names etc, as available from "old" mksimachine
(without arguments)?
I would like to get information about the "present state"
like the "old" mksimachine output.

3. Can I enter MAC-address information into SystemImager
without going through the si_mkdhcpstatic script?
Often, we may have the MAC-information on hand.
Maybe it is as simple, as just adding lines to dhcpd.conf
manually (if the info is not stored anywhere else)?

Finally, let me thank you for a truly great piece of
software. I does a great deal to simplify the otherwise
daunting task for setup and maintainace of clusters.
