Hi, this is actually a follow up to this earlier thread that I found: http://www.mail-archive.com/sisuite-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg04388.html
We're having the same issue here with Xen, SI and SC, and we've traced it back to the same problem. Essentially when SC calls grub, grub doesn't detect any devices and writes nothing to /tmp/device.map. From here on out the whole script gets confused and eventually you end up with an empty grub.conf. The strange part is the correct values are all listed in /a/etc/systemconfig/systemconfig.conf. Anyways, I saw that prior thread and tried the fix that is mention with no luck. According to the post, with the 2.2.12svn system configurator package installed it should still populate the correct entries if there is a workable /a/boot/grub/device.map already listed. So far I haven't seen any difference. I added the correct "(hd0) /dev/xvda" device.map entry, installed 2.2.12 in the image, and reran the systemimager install. Each time it still doesn't write a proper grub.conf and hadn't changed anything as far as I can tell. Am I missing something? According to the post by Andrea above, I shouldn't need anymore than then svn checkout of SC and the correct device.map. I have both, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. -- ================================ David Halik System Administrator OIT-CSS Rutgers University [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================ ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ sisuite-users mailing list sisuite-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/sisuite-users
