- Ship the desktop defaults system-wide instead of /etc/skel, so that
they reach existing accounts and not only the newly created ones:
+ Put our own xdg directory first in XDG_CONFIG_DIRS and the xdg-data
one first in XDG_DATA_DIRS.
+ Move the GTK, xfconf, KConfig, Thunar, terminal, fontconfig, vim,
recoll and autostart defaults there.
+ Prune, once per user, the verbatim skel copies still left in the
existing home directories, keeping whatever the user has changed.
+ Keep only the per-user state in /etc/skel, and document the Plasma
