starts into a flame fest about what an asshole Jon is. Then, a whole
mess of people step up to defend the fact that Jon has done a lot for
the Java/Jakarta community over the last >5 years while a whole mess
of other people continue to bitch about what an asshole Jon is. Sadly,
most of the people who bitch about Jon are also the same people who
manage to not contribute anything to the Jakarta project except their
opinion about what an asshole Jon is. Eventually everyone gets tired
about talking about Jon and the discussion joins the rest of the bits in
the etherworld.

<p>
Reality is that Jon won't ever stop speaking his mind. His personality
rubs well with some people and doesn't with others. That is life, get
used to it. He will eventually learn how to better focus his method of
speaking into something that will be less likely to incite riots in
third world countries. However, this is something he needs to do on his
own. Talking about what an asshole he is (or defending him) does nothing
more than waste energy.

<p>
So, instead of getting pissed at Jon (who is someone you have probably
never even met in person), we ask that you direct some of that energy
towards <a href="./getinvolved.html">contributing to the Jakarta
project</a>. Long term, that will be much more beneficial than bitching
about what an asshole Jon is.
