        Things People Said

"English is such a tricky language!"

"The humor here is, for the most part, unrehearsed and unintentional. Hundreds of
quotations are listed. There are lines spoken by people intending to say something
else. There are lines spoken by people who misunderstood something or other. They
may or may not have known any better. The intricacies of human language may have
fouled them up, or perhaps unfortunate slips of the tongue led them to ignominy.
Whatever the case, there's a lot to laugh at." - from the website

Sometimes one encounters a site that is just so terrific that one wants to shout the
URL from the rooftop. Fortunately, for situations like that there is Site of the
Day!

If you are feeling particularly jaundiced about your fellow human beings, this
spectacular site will leaven your mood. No, there are no whizz-bang graphics here;
no cutting edge design elements - just words! Words, from ordinary folks, who
inadvertently, may just leave you helpless with mirth. An example? From an insurance
accident report: "The guy was all over the road. I had to swerve a number of times
before I hit him."

This site is what every Monday morning needs.(If you omit the word 'site' from the
previous sentence, which is how it appeared before editing, you will see exactly how
easy it is to unintentionally amuse your reader.)
