[scoop] What's wrong with this site file?

I've the following site file with the StoryPostProcess as follows:

  StoryPostProcess: {
    s,(<SUP>?[0-9]+</SUP>),<FONT COLOR="#0000ff"><FONT
SIZE=-1>$1</FONT></FONT>,g;
  }

However, whenever I run sitescooper, I get the error that says

SITE WARNING: "niv.site" line 1: StoryPostProc failed: Substitution
replacement not terminated at (eval 39) line 1.

I'm quite sure that my substitution is properly terminated (it works in
Perl). Can someone tell me if I did something wrong or if it's a bug within
sitescooper?
