Okay. I thought that perhaps one or more people using sitescooper might
have written scripts that updated things in such a way as they could keep
up to date automatically.

How is http://www.sitescooper.org/dist/site_samples/ generated?
a sync from the cvs of the whole source tree, then a symlink tree to the
site directory? Looks like the entire tree is generated daily.

Note that on http://www.sitescooper.org/download/index.html , when I attempt
to "Browse the Sourceforge CVS Repository" I get the error:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/sitescooper/?cvsroot=sitescooper

The requested URL /cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/sitescooper/ was not found on this server.

Going through sf.net, I see a comperable URL titled:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/sitescooper/
but perhaps that is a different route.

Thanks for answering though!
