NEW YORK (AP) The woman photographed as a child running naked down
a highway while fleeing a napalm attack during the Vietnam War is in
New York City to give hope to burn survivors, including U.S.
servicemen and women injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A spokeswoman for the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors says
46-year-old Kim Phuc (fook) is speaking about her ordeal Saturday at
the society's annual convention.

She was only nine years old when she suffered third-degree burns over
half her body from a 1972 napalm attack.

The Associated Press photograph taken of her as a child has become an
iconic image of the Vietnam War and won a Pulitzer Prize.
