The Woodstock Film Festival is happy to announce that it will partner with Upstate Films to co-present the documentary Saint Misbehavin': The Wavy Gravy Movie by Ripple Films on Saturday, December 11 at 4PM at Upstate Films at Tinker Street in Woodstock. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the iconic Wavy Gravy and film director Michelle Esrick.

In Saint Misbehavin' Wavy is revealed more than the tie-dyed entertainer and ice-cream flavor namesake that often defines him in the popular imagination. Audiences will come to know the activist, the optimist, and the healer who reaches beyond political, economic, and cultural divisions in his commitment to social change and the alleviation of human suffering. Wavy's life is his message, serving as deeply needed inspiration that we can change the world and have fun doing it.

"The Woodstock Film Festival had the opportunity to show a work in progress of Saint Misbehavin' back in 2006 with Wavy, Michelle other guests including the late Odetta and Michael Lang." Recalls WFF executive director Meira Blaustein. "We've stayed in touch with the filmmakers and followed their progress and I'm thrilled that the completed film is ready to be seen by the world and am doubly thrilled that we can co-present it with Upstate Films here in Woodstock. The audience is in for a treat!"

Known as the unofficial MC of the original 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, this rich, intimate portrait weaves together never before seen footage with personal reflections from a variety of his peers. "To be around Wavy is to see the best part of ourselves," says director Michelle Esrick. "He makes you feel hopeful, inspired, more loving, forgiving and helpful."

As the Village Voice declared, "Wavy Gravy will make as big a fool of himself as is necessary to make a wiser man of you."

Tickets for the film are $15 and can be purchased at Upstate Films or online at woodstockfilmfestival.com/cart/saint.php
