In a nutshell I tried to negotiate with the officer as being equals to try
and break though that Parent child relationship training. I informed him
that I was trying to communicate
with the peace officer, not the enforcement officer, but he was hell bent on
being the enforcement officer so I effectively defended my honor by calling
a black cat... black.
His first communication with me was to trump a claim that I had been
drinking without evidence (Screw probable cause, that is for enforcement
officers) that is where he insulted
me, when I told him "absolutely not a one" after he had asked how much I
have been drinking, well his reply was " I don't like your answer, would you
care to rephrase that and tell the truth? ", now he is calling me a liar so
at that point he went on to ask me where I live and I told him " you have my
license, reference that officer" I should have just said no comment officer
at that time which is a small mistake of my own. Next he asked where I
worked and then that is when I said no comment officer, that is about the
time he ordered me out of the car. Asked him point blank " am I under arrest
", he said " no your just being detained for questioning " so here we are at
the back of the car where he is questioning my behavior again. I explained
to him that he first insulted me and then he called me a liar. He then went
on to question whether I have been taking any drugs, I told him " not unless
caffeine is a illegal substance behind the wheel, I drink soda to stay awake
sometimes at work ", from that point on pretty much I stayed silent while he
went into all his semantics and threats of taking me downtown for drug
testing or he might decide to just call in a drug specialist now and going
back an forth to his car several times, as bad as I wanted to tear into this
guy because he was such an asshole I stayed silent because I had already got
the names of the other officers who were standing there watching this too.
Apparently another word he did not like was the word Officer, so I changed
it up since he had called me "sir" at one point I started addressing him as
"sir" so that it was in his own language then his attitude changed just a
bit an just asked me to go sit in the car while he talked to the other
officers. He made one last threat to call something in for a last attempt to
get my goat an tear into him for more probable cause in his favor but I had
not faltered for it an then he finally gave up, gave back my papers and said
have a nice day.

If you get pulled over, the first thing I would ask is "Sir, how would you
like to be addressed?" to let him know up front that you are attempting to
communicate in peace to a peace officer.

Blessing to your journey on the road.
