That's also a good way, and adds a shortcuts for it.

Yes, the resolution of your screen. The system (by default) just  
assumes it's exactly 72dpi, and does the calculations based on that  
assumption (i.e. it assumes a rescaling factor of 1 from internal  
scales to the screen). In practice of course that's never the case,  
resolutions are much higher nowadays. On Leopard you can change the  
internal rescaling factor yourself, and make "1 inch" really 1 inch.  
Though I believe that with current high resolution screens that looks  
really big.
