Hello,
I want to switch (from TeXShop) to Skim as PDF-Viewer for LyX 1.5.6.
Based on other posts both on the Skim and the LyX list this should work
basically "out of the box".
However, I do not get the automatic reloading to work when using pdftex.
If I use latex->ps->pdf, automatic reloading works just fine.
If I use pdftex, however, Skim starts to reload the document ("Reloading
document..." and the bar appears for a short time), but then a Message
Box appears saying "Unable to load file" and on console the error message:
"failed to find start of cross-reference table. missing or invalid
cross-reference trailer."
Using Skim 1.1.10 (32) on OS X 10.4.11 (Intel) and "pdfTeXk, Version
3.141592-1.40.3 (Web2C 7.5.6) (format=pdflatex 2007.7.4)"
It appears to me as if Skim would attempt to read the file before pdftex
has finished writing it. Based on the file creation and modification
dates the file is NOT deleted and rewritten, but modified.
Any idea what might happen here ???

P.S. I did not find a simple way how to trigger the reload from LyX (on
update).
