Hello everybody,
I have scanned an old document using Adobe Acrobat 8 and OCRed it.
When I am trying to copy and paste parts of the text, Acrobat gives
correct results, but the text which is copied from Skim is garbled and
the inter-word spacing is all messed up. Here is an example:

Copied from Adobe Acrobat Reader:
However, there are many practical cases in which the
distortion of the spatial shape during transients is quite
significant.

Copied from Skim:
Ho we v e r , t h e r e a r e many p r a c t i c a l c a s e s i n whi ch t h e
d i s t o r t i o n of t h e s p a t i a l s h a p e d u r i n g t r a
n s i e n t s i s qui t e
s i g n i f i c a n t.

There is no problem in reading text in skim. The problem arises when
you try to highlight part of the PDF file in Skim, which results in
unreadable notes.

Is there a solution to this problem? Is it related to OCR in Acrobat
or is it and issue of incompatibility?

Regards,
Hooman
