Hi All,

Skim is hands down my favorite app for displaying and presenting PDFs.

I frequently use Skim in Presentation mode to show a series of home made slideshows to my preschool-aged children. Each show has a different educational "theme": shapes, colors, numbers, vowels, all letters. We go through a set of 5 slideshows over and over again together in a single session. So, I repeatedly switch and forth between files during a single session. I always want to be in presentation mode so there is nothing on the screen other than what I want them to identify.

I tend to do everything I can using keyboard commands. So, I hit ESC to leave Presentation mode, then switch files using Command-` and then re-enter Presentation mode using the appropriate keyboard shortcut.

Unfortunately, about 50% of the time I hit Command-` before I hit ESC. The result of hitting Command-` during Presentation is invariably a complete freeze of Skim on my computers, forever displaying the last image I was on. The only thing I can find to do to get back to presenting is to Force Quit and start over.

I cannot reproduce this. When I do this all that happens is that the fullscreen window loses focus, simply clicking in e.g. the black area brings the focus back and allows me to do anything I like.

Yup. That is what it does for me. Who knows what I was trying to do to get the focus back that wasn't working. I think I must have just repeatedly hit the arrow keys and nothing happened so I figured it was frozen. Sorry for the inaccurate report and thanks for the solution to my foolishness.

Thanks,

Rob
