Greetings, I use LaTeX and Beamer to make slides for my classes. I also have a Wacom Bamboo tablet that I use to annotate the slides in class. The final piece of my instructional technology puzzle is a classroom response system or "clickers" (like Ask the Audience on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?). I've been using Interwrite-brand clickers and their Interwrite Response software. This is a Java-based program that manages to float it's control bar on top of Skim in presentation mode, which is exactly what I need. I can also bring up a chart of student responses to the questions. However, this spring I'm supposed to pilot the TurningPoint Anywhere software with their brand of clickers. The TurningPoint Anywhere windows are transparent windows that appear more Mac-native than the Interwrite Response bar and window. Unfortunately, I cannot get these windows to appear on top of presentation mode in Skim, meaning that if there's no way to resolve this, I'll have to find another PDF presentation and annotation option. Everything I've tried is vastly inferior to Skim, so I'm hoping there's a way to allow something like the Keynote preference that allows other applications to use the display.
