FWIW, I tried printing the "image-type" pdf file, but using the "PDF" button to select "save to postscript". I thought that by using the utility "ps2pdf", it might be doing some OCR transformation thing in the process. There I go -- _thinking_ again! ;) It didn't work. I was hoping that Apple had hidden some bizarro way of doing this very thing ;) Haven't yet found it.
