...Ready to put names with faces? That's
been one of our major concerns about
continuing to deepen this discussion community, and make our relationships more
meaningful. In collaboration with list sponsor RealNetworks, we've come up
with two initiatives to help make this happen, both in relation to Streaming
Media West 2000 (taking place Dec. 12-14 in
San Jose, CA).
1). If you find yourself squinting at nametags as people pass you by during the show, trying to remember if this or that person is on the list, you'll be happy to know that we're having special "I'm on The List" buttons made. You can pick them up at the RealNetworks booth (# 1109 or # 1213), the RealNetworks Broadband Theatre in Hall 2, or [the list] hospitality room (see below).
2). We will also be providing a special hospitality room for list members located in the concourse next to the escalators outside of the entrance to all the meeting rooms and Hall 1 of the exhibition floor. Your ticket into the hospitality room will be your membership button. The idea is to give everybody on the lists a nice quiet (or not-so-quiet) place to network, socialize, arm wrestle, etc. There will be a very nice spread of free refreshments, as well as streamingmedia.com and RealNetworks staff to meet and greet. You don't have to be a full conference delegate to show up, by the way, but you do have to register for the free exhibition.

3) We'd also like to use this opportunity to recruit new members to one or more of our 15 discussion lists. If you are with associates or meet others at the show that may be interested, bring them by for some quality food and drink and we'll let them know what we have to offer and get them signed up.
