Anyone heard of ON2?
Formerly The Duck Corporation, On2 (www.on2.com) is a full-service,
streaming media solutions provider. We encode using a proprietary codec
known as TrueMotion VP3. VP3 has been developed by On2's engineers for the
delivery of full-screen, full-motion, VHS quality video over the Web, at
data rates as low as 200kbps.
VP3 has recently been adopted by Apple for part of their QuickTime 5 release
and Real Networks as part of their auto-update service. Currently, we offer
a fully outsourced solution for encoding, hosting, and streaming but plan to
license our software in the near future. On2 will also be selling encoding
stations using our proprietary solution as well as other solutions that are
available today.
