You are totally wrong, and John's ad was completely appropriate.
Skunkworks mailing list was designed specifically for
startups/advertising/sharing/etc. Perhaps you are looking for Streaming
Media's Advanced Discussion Topics list?
Your comment about 52's post is not only misplaced, but rude as well.
Please take your negative attitude somewhere else, or at least do your
research as to what list you should be subscribing to, instead of blaming
others for your inability to look at the details of a simple forum
subscription.
And since you obviously don't know any better, the Streaming Media industry
is in it's infancy - there are tons of startups out there scraping for
money, looking for support, and struggling just to keep base hardware up
(myself included and many others I know). 52 should be applauded for their
dedication to an idea and market that hasn't quite fleshed itself out yet -
we are all in the same boat, and need to work together toward establishing
new standards and reinforcing the ones that are there - not taking pot shots
at each other. They've been quite active on other lists, and made valuable
contributions.
If you don't have anything positive to say, slash off.
imho.
