Are these true streams (from QTSS) or fast-start ones?
if they are true streams, you should be able to tell from the server
logs. Ask for more details on this list:

If they are fast-start, the only way is with some kind of web bug,
and even then you won't catch download and play off line (like I do
with iFilms -download at work, watch at home).
You should be able to see an aborted download from the webserver logs.
