Bill.
The Common names are contained in the Bright Star Catalog. When you 
right click on a star CdC uses the last catalog loaded for info on 
that star. What you need to do is to make the "Max" field smaller for 
the non-BSC. In other words make the catalogs that don not have the 
info you want kick in at smaller FOV than the one you are currently 
using.
