Use upper case "P", not lower case "p". I tried just "9p" and "9P" without the name, and "9P" works, but "9p" gives "no such object", so I think the lower case p confused it, and it just gave you the first thing it had with "Tempel" in the name > BTW, MPC returns nothing when I request "9p/Tempel 1". I remember hearing some discussion on MPML that the MPC wanted to quit using numbers after the discoverer's name for those who had discovered more than 1 comet. I don't remember the reason. The "9P" or "10P"is enough to distinguish which comet it is, so even the name is not specifically needed.
