I must be doing something wrong with satellites. They've worked in the
past.
I'm subscribed to Space Track, downloaded some large lists. I have to
unzip them and make sure the file type is changed from TXT to TLE, of
course. When I select those large TLEs in calendar / artificial
satellites, they don't list.
I've tried restricting the date range, setting magnitudes to 99,
checking daytime pass, etc. Nothing.
Is there a size limit for TLE files in CdC or Mike McCants' program
that's used to generate lists of passes? Maybe my TLEs are too big.
ALLSAT.TLE for example is 1.3 MB. (Later) No, somehow I don't think
it's size; I took a 33 KB "visible.tle" file and broke it into two
smaller files, smaller than classified.tle which works, and they still
don't work.
I manually made a couple of very short TLE lists, for the Shuttle and
ISS, and those work fine.
Also there seems to be some sort of bug, in which not all lines from a
previous listing are cleared out. For example, I can list passes for
classified satellites, then ask for a list for the ISS, but what
appears is a single line, for one of the classifieds. That only
happens when "daytime pass" is not checked (and there are effectively
no nighttime passes of the ISS for me for the next few days). If I
checkbox daytime passes, then ask for ISS listing, it wipes out that
leftover classified sat and lists only ISS passes as one would expect.
Anybody have an idea what's happening?
Pete
