You can find tar.gz file you can install on any Linux.

There is some explanation here:

This explain how to install in the user home directory but you can copy the 
respective file to your system /bin /lib /usr ... as the rpm do if you want. 
The startup script is no longer necessary in this case.
Maybe someone can contribute a "make install" to automatize this process.
