Hello all,
I use Cartes du ciel for almost all of my astronomical activities,
including observing and publishing for my website. I think it is one
of the best tools in the field, and I prefer it to all other similar
software, including the expensive ones.
However, I have a few small problems that I can't solve myself; hope
that you can help me:
1. Planet magnitudes are being displayed incorrectly, especially for
inferior planets. For example Venus is not at magnitude -4.6, but the
software says it's at magnitude -2.3. How can I solve this?
2. When I use the Astrorb database for plotting asteroid positions,
the accuracy is well... out of this world. The asteroid is in Leo and
the software shows it is in Gemini for example. This happens for all
asteroids, I know this could be my mistake somewhere, but I can't
figure where. This is especially frustrating because I can't use the
CBAT database, it is not updated for 2006, and the software gives an
error when I try to download it using online resources (file not
found).
3. How can I fine move the chart in all directions (using the arrows
on my keyboard)? Searched help for this one but couldn't find the
answer.
4. Where is the file in witch the software saves its user options? In
C:/Windows? Can't find it...
Many thanks!
Emil
