Last night I did my first serious star hopping experiment where I walked
the scope from Alp-Tri to M33 by comparing what I saw in the fov with
what CdC told me I should be seeing. This worked great except that I
needed to keep zooming out/in to make sure I was still moving in the
right direction. It would be great if CdC provided a 'target object'
feature that results in a little arrow showing where the object is no
matter what the chart is rendering. Sort of like some computer games
where waypoints are shown as little triangles on the edge of your screen
if the waypoint is not visible. I just realized I could have two charts
open at the same time, one zoomed out and one zoomed in. Still, I think
this could be helpful.
Best,
Sander
