3.x uses this path:
http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Comets/Soft00Cmt.txt
which works fine. Perhaps the patch Patrick put in needs to be reversed
then? You can edit externes.ini or download the comet data by hand and
import it into CdC.
