Hi, Patrick and all. I've started a series of strange events in my CdC installation.
First, I wanted to plot some asteroids. So I started CdC (V2.76), clicked on the "catalog and objects paramenters" icon in the left margin, asteroids, and asteroid elements. I tried both CBAT and Astorb, It seems to run but eventually it reports back "Read Bytes: 91394 / Error: 404 Not Found" The URL it's trying to use is http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Bright/2007/Soft00Bright.txt + Soft00Unusual.txt and indeed when I go there manually, it's "not found." (also if I bo to ...bright.txt and ...unusual.txt separately) So I saw the thing on the download page, "Comets and Asteroid Download," May 25 2006, "CfA web site change is base url from cfa-www to www.cfa. As the program do not follow the url redirection the download failed. Replace this file in the Ciel directory to use the new url." Tried that. No difference. Still get the 404 error. CdC appears to want to use the url http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Bright/2007/Soft06Bright.txt which is not found, and + Soft06Unusual.txt also not found It appears the URLs have have changed again? http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Unusual/Soft06Unusual.txt when tried manually, does work. At least, I get a list of objects. Also the "bright" list seems to be at http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Bright/2006/Soft00Bright.txt Format of URLs seem to be inconsistent? Then I replaced the two lines in the extres.ini file with url=http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Bright/2006/Soft00Bright.txt url2=http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Unusual/Soft06Unusual.txt That seems to work; at least I don't get the 404 errors anymore. But I don't get any lists of asteroids appearing in the CdC window, and I get an error box " is not a valid integer value Furthermore when I hit the "refresh" button in the catalogs box, or when I close the "Internet resource" box, I get that same warning box " is not a valid integer value. I also get this box now when starting CdC. Right on top of the small CdC splash box. Never had that before. Then once I x that out, the program continues to load normally. Other than asteroids and that error box it appears to be running correctly. I would hate to burn down all my settings, catalogs, observatory locations etc. by doing a more extensive re-install, anybody have any ideas? Pete
