You should use the connection on the base of the hand controller, the same one that you used to update the hand controller. The PC Port on the scope base is only for updating the motor controller firmware. It uses a different protocol. I'm a little surprised that it doesn't give an error as if you used the wrong COM port. It's annoying that Celestron put the PC port on the scope but only for updating the motor controllers. Chris
