So to your question... How to install catalog...
1. Download package
2. Install:
a) You have .exe package:
Just run it. It will detect your install of skychart, but you can
also change where the files are
installed.
b) You have zip package. This are old catalogs, without install
software (try to find exe file for
same catalog)
Unpack the file into <CDC_Install_Directory>\cat (preffered way,
but same as with option a) you can use your own location...
3. Set in software:
a) You have version 2.x:
Select icon "Catalog and Objects" or same option in Preferences....
Find your newly installed catalog. For example you installed
Sky2000, go to Stars->Sky2000 and see if it is selected. If it's
selected then it's ok. Now see the path. If path is red it was not
found. You can set full path here (use Browse) or you type cat\sky2000.
This paths are added by most of options, so you don't have to know much...
b) You have version 3.x:
Select configuration icon, or use Setup-> Configure the program
All other is same as with a...
