Could the problem be that the old version of CdC did not completely
uninstall (e.g. files left in the Windows registry) and this was picked
up by the installation prog for the new version which then fails to
install properly? I have had this kind of thing happen on other software
I've used.

I use v2.76 on an old 350Mhz PII with Win98.  It's slow when I zoom in
and have
deep catalogs active, but it works.  I used v2.75 on an even older
machine.
