There's an option to not display stars. Be sure it's not selected. It's
a push button on the default button bar. Of course the default settings
for a fresh install show stars just fine so it's hard to imagine what
went wrong there. You could remove the .ini file in my documents\cartes
du ciel to make 3.0 create a new default file.
