Under "Setup/Catalogue/CdCstars" you can set the Field # for each catalogue, the min max # defines when this catalogue ( and it's limiting magnitude) will be used. For instance if you just want the Bright Star Catalogue stars all the way to a narrow field, untick all the other catalogues and set the BSC max min to 0 and 10. What ever zoom you have, you will only see the BSC stars.
