I don't think the MPC files at
<http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Comets/SoftwareComets.html>
are updated that often. For brand new objects, you may need to customize your
comet file by getting the elements for a specific comet (or asteroid) at
<http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/MPEph/MPEph.html>

V2.7x uses "TheSky" format. I think V3.x uses "MPC 1-line" format (or maybe it
was MPC 8-line- Patrick mentioned it here several months back).

In V2.7x, save the downloaded "elements.txt" file as (or in place of your old)
"cometes.dat" in your ..\ciel\cat\planet folder. Or save the txt file and
copy/paste the data into your old cometes.dat file to add the new comet. I
don't know what the procedure is in v3.x.

Similarly, you can customize your "asteroides.dat" file rather than just using
the pre-packaged element sets CdC gets from
<http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Bright/2009/SoftwareBright.html> and
<http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/Ephemerides/Unusual/SoftwareUnusual.html>
