I opened CdC and selected a star at random... mine was: TYC 62-942-1 ( a 10.06mag star) Simbad had no problems with it - pulled up the data first time..
I tried your example TYC 2397-132-1 ( which is BTW a real star in CdC!) and Simbad couldn't find it!!!!
