The GSC catalog (all versions) only goes down to about mag 15.
USNO-B1.0 is an update to A2.0 that goes slightly deeper than A (twice as many stars). But it also has much more info on each star, so the total size is about 80GB. V2.76 is not designed to use this (except for small fields using the "online resources"- although there have been problems there with vizier changing the format), although you might be able to convert it to CdC compatible form using catgen. And v3 can probably use it. I don't understand your statement "I could not get the epochs.fit file to download without putting on notepad, but the data looks corrupted." Either you downloaded it or you didn't. How is notepad involved? .fit is a very general format, so how do you know it's corrupted? Don't use USNO-SA2.0 unless you understand what it's for. It's not a very accurate picture of the sky. Search the group message archives for "USNO-SA2.0" for my earlier descriptions of it. -John ----- Original Message ---- > From: spquasar_777 <[email protected]> > To: [email protected] > Sent: Wed, April 21, 2010 11:35:47 PM > Subject: [skychart-discussion] I can not get the USNO-A2.0 to work on CdC > 2.76c > > Hello to fellow CdC fans, I just can not get the USNO catalog to appear > on CdC.
