FWIW, in v2.76 plotting one or more solar system objects (for a single time) is separate from the "simulation" feature. So you select your asteroids and comets first, and then if you want to do a simulation to show the path over some period of time, you set the time increment and # of points, and this is applied to all solar system objects currently plotted (and that includes planets/moons). It sounds like v3 divides solar system objects into categories when doing simulations (eg, maybe you don't want to see the path of Jupiter and its moons when plotting a path for a comet). But maybe you have to select the comet(s) first, just as you would when you're only plotting for a single time, before setting the simulation settings. In other words, there must be a procedure to select one or more asteroid/comets even if you're not doing a simulation, since the program would bog down if it tried to plot all 500,000+ known asteroids, even for a single time! -John > I looked through the code which looks like > that it's all or nothing, but before I start hacking the code I wondered if > there was a combination of settings that a) might have allowed you to do it, > or b) I'd missed somewhere.
