Hello Doug and all,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillic_alphabet
There you'll find the unicode range for the alphabet and other
information on it.
As far as I know, in JAWS 9.0 they made the possibility to write
scripts (messages, .sbl files etc.) in unicode but I guess there are
some issues with that.
If you need more info on cyrillic alphabet and, maybe, some tests,
feel free to call me on Skype!

"SkypeWatch"

Forgive my ignorance of this, but which alphabet is cyrillic? I'm
trying to figure out how to include non-Arabic characters in JAWS
script files, specifically characters not representable as ANSI/ASCII
(8-bit) characters. I don't think I can do Unicode or UTF-8 in a JAWS
script, and my various attempts to thwart this restriction have
failed. I'm all ears on this one though, because solving this would
open up some new possibilities.

Hello Kostadin and all,

Yepp, the JSM files do support cyrillic chars (I'm from Russia, so we
have the same alphabet with you).
I guess that some .jss strings need to be translated also, but I can't
tell you which of them.

Subject: [Skypeenglish] Translation of "skype.jsm" and a question about
"SkypeWatch"

Hello,

My name is Kostadin Kolev and this is my first post to this list. So, if
I'm not doing something right, you're welcome to correct me :-).
First, let me tell you, that I'm from Bulgaria and I'm 23 years old.
And now, to my questions:
1. I want to translate the JAWS script messages for Skype in bulgarian,
so they (the messages) can be more friendlier to the Skype and JAWS
users in Bulgaria, who don't know the english language very well. If I
understand correctly, I have to translate the strings in the "skype.jsm"
file. Is that right? And if so, are there any special things that I
should know before I start translating? For example - does the
"skype.jsm" file support cyrillic characters?
2. I've recently installed the "SkypeWatch" feature of the scripts. I
was using the "SkRead" program before, but found the "SkypeWatch"
feature more comfortable to use. But I've noticed something: Every time
a Skype tray alert pops up, JAWS reads it twice - once as some sort of
text box that appeared on the screen, and once again as a Skype tray
alert. Hope that you understand what I'm talking about - it's hard to
explain.

Thank you for your help in advance!

Best wishes!
Kostadin Kolev
