You are loading a massive number of chat messages from Chat History into your window, and Skype needs time to get them all loaded. JAWS watches for new chat lines, and it is seeing large numbers of lines streaming in over time. The reason you keep hearing these messages is that Skype is taking a while to finish adding all the lines. This is much better than trying to read all the lines themselves of course. There is no way to turn this off though, and I regard it as useful, because otherwise I wouldn't know when the messages were done loading.

But this was happening with earlier versions of all 3 of them. The issue is the following: When I select a Skype user from my contacts list and from the context menu choose "Show chat history", when the chat window appears, JAWS starts saying "... new chat messages not read" for a minute or two. The "..." is replaced with a number, which constantly changes during that annoying repetition. And during that, the chat messages (lines) are moving from bottom to top. Is this some sort of feature of the scripts? And if so, is there a way to disable it? P.S.: If you need some more information, please let me know. Best wishes!
