Here is the long-awaited, possibly anticipated (<silly grin>) script
release for Skype 4.0 beta3. I've been using these for a while, but
no one else has, so pardon any rough edges, and please report them
here.

The direct URL for the Skype 4 beta scripts remains

        http://www.dlee.org/skype/skype4.php

But they are also, at long last, accessible from my main Skype page,

        http://www.dlee.org/skype/

As usual, I have a few things to say about this release:

First, the name of this release is 4b3a, not the likely expected 4b5.
This is explained in the release notes on my web site.

My advice on who should try Skype 4 beta has changed a bit. Until
now, I have recommended that only the most daring should try this.
Now though, I recommend that anyone who wants to contribute to the
accessibility of the next major Skype release try it, as long as the
following warnings don't make this unwise for you.
To tantalize some of you, I'll point out that it appears to be
possible in Skype 4.0 beta 3 to add people to a conference even if
you're not the host! This feature, sometimes called "answer/join" by
fans of it from the Skype 2.0 days, has been absent for a very long
time.

For anyone interested in trying Skype 4:

1. Read my web site page about this script release,

        http://www.dlee.org/skype/skype4.php

I am likely to update that page from time to time. Some of it may
already be slightly out of date in fact. I must stress, though, that
you could get some big surprises if you try installing these scripts
without first reading that page.

2. Be aware that SkypeWatch is not supported in Skype 4 at this time.
More about this on the above page. I'm trying to get Skype to fix
this issue internally.

3. Be prepared to return to Skype 3 if you need it for something
specific that is not in Skype 4. Sadly, this would include the hot
keys such as Alt+PageUp to answer calls, as these are still not
implemented in Skype 4.

4. If all that didn't scare you off, grab the scripts from the URL I
gave earlier, grab Skype 4.0 beta 3 directly from skype.com or from
wherever you normally go, and give it all a whirl.

5. Report any problems you have to this list and also on the Jira bug
reporting site for Skype, which is at

        https://developer.skype.com/jira/

I ask this so that Skype developers and management can see
the number of blind users who are trying to use their product. When
writing to Skype directly, keep in mind that they already know
accessibility is important. This is about showing them numbers of
people, as priorities are often affected by such numbers. In other
words, be nice, but you don't have to be quiet. :)
