As far as I know, you pay $2.99 a month for free calls to landlines in the 
US and Canada (applicable only to US residents).

I believe (this is a bit out of date) that a skype in number would cost you 
approximately $30 per year, with voicemail included.  for separate voicemail 
you'd pay $2.99 per month also.
