I am trying to guide the Skype developers into implementing sufficient functionality directly in Skype itself so we don't need SkypeWatch in order to hear sign-ins, sign-outs, new chats, etc. etc. Currently though, SkypeWatch is technically not possible in Skype 4 without using the Skype API, which poses quite a risk to some JAWS users if I use it, which is why so far I don't. Explanations of why I say the API poses a risk to JAWS users can surely be found in the SkypeEnglish archives, though I don't have a specific reference handy.
